A kid I went to high school with has some rare, incurable disease and he's been wheelchair-bound for over a full year now. We were not friends, but we were friendly with each other. We were two of the best players of a very niche reflex-based card game that was popular in my school for whatever reason. For about two years I would play any and all challengers and would retain my unbeaten streak without much effort. He changed that.
Life's been hard for everyone this year. I don't really have anything useful to say about that; we're all in this thing together, some more than others, some dealing with hardships that others will never deal with. That's always been the way things work, but now we've all got this multiplier of shit to deal with in Covid.
Try to find some goodness where you can. Maybe find some weirdness too, if that's your thing.
